The Design Build Institute of America, Rocky Mountain Region, will donate design and construction services to Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver to make needed improvements to the organization’s Johnson Boys & Girls Club in the West Colfax neighborhood in Denver.

More than $30,000 worth of professional and construction services will go toward upgrades to the building, which addresses the neighborhood’s ongoing need for quality afterschool and summer programming for more than 150 kids and teens each day.

The design-build team of Hensel Phelps and Davis Partnership Architects has been selected by the DBIA-RMR board to execute the project, supported by the project committee of Ted Laszlo, vice president of Vertix Builders; Eric Moe, vice president of Puma Steel; David Mechem, principal at Fentress Architects; and Jenna Brunett, counsel for DPR Construction.

“We’re very pleased to be able to support Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver in this way, and provide the Johnson Club with new windows, carpet and fresh paint, adding to the fun, enriching and safe environment that the club provides for kids,” said Laszlo, president of DBIA, Rocky Mountain Region. “It’s an organization with a tremendous mission and a great partner to show what design-build can accomplish in our community.”
